Barcelona Targets Andreas…

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is looking into alternatives such as academy product Jan Virgili and Benfica’s Andreas Schjelderup.

Virgili moved to Real Mallorca last summer for €4 million, but Barcelona retained 40% of any future sale.

Additionally, they secured a right of first refusal, allowing them to match any offers made to Mallorca and take priority in negotiations.

Virgili has made 25 appearances for Mallorca this season, although he is yet to score, he has contributed six assists.

Another option is Schjelderup, who is having an impressive season with Benfica, amassing seven goals and four assists in 36 appearances.

The 21-year-old has two years remaining on his contract and has a €100 million release clause.

Barcelona is anticipated to be active when the summer transfer window opens.

They are seeking a striker due to the uncertainty surrounding Robert Lewandowski’s future. Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez is their preferred choice.

Barcelona is also in the market for a left-footed center-back, with Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni being their top target, while Tottenham Hotspur’s Luka Vuskovic is also considered.

The La Liga champions are also looking to reinforce their full-back positions and may explore goalkeeping options if Wojciech Szczesny departs.
