Florentino Perez emerged victorious in the Real Madrid presidential election held on Sunday, paving the way for his pursuit of Michael Olise. The player, who is currently with Bayern Munich, is the enigmatic figure for whom Perez has indicated he would place a €150 million bid during his campaign; a proposal is expected to be made to Bayern shortly.
Olise is viewed as a prime addition to enhance Real Madrid’s impressive attack, which already includes talents such as Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, and Kylian Mbappe. However, Bayern has firmly stated their unwillingness to entertain offers for one of their key players, reinforcing their stance recently.
According to Diario AS, Bayern’s president, Herbert Hainer, addressed Real Madrid’s interest in Olise, making their position unmistakably clear: he is not available for transfer.
“Michael Olise is a Bayern player with a long-term contract. We are not a selling club. If Florentino Pérez wants to submit an offer, which he hasn’t done yet, he can spare himself the effort. Selling Olise for €200 million? That’s not happening. We’re in this for our fans. With 430,000 members and millions of supporters worldwide, having €200 million in the bank doesn’t help if we’re playing poorly on the pitch because of it.”

With Perez committing to spend €150 million, it indicates that Real Madrid is financially poised for new signings. However, unless Olise expresses a firm desire to leave Bayern for the Bernabeu this summer, it seems unlikely those funds will be allocated for him.
It will be intriguing to see if Perez considers alternative high-profile options should it become evident that Bayern is not willing to negotiate, although his current focus remains on Olise.
