Real Madrid is always on the lookout for potential signings and has recently taken notice of a developing situation at Bayern Munich. Rising talent Lennart Karl, who almost joined the Bernabeu 18 months ago, recently voiced his desire to play for Los Blancos, which hasn’t been well received by his current fans.
His comments were made during a fan meeting, and it’s fair to say they stirred some controversy. Reactions within Bayern were also noted, as reported by club insider Christian Falk.

“Bayern is a bit concerned after Lennart Karl praised Real Madrid recently. The club has a rich tradition that it has maintained over many years, which I think is commendable. After Christmas, players attend fan club events where they can engage in a more casual setting. It was Karl’s first time at such an event, being a young player. When asked by a young fan if it would be a dream to play for Real Madrid or another club, Karl responded, ‘Yes, of course, that’s a big dream.’
“However, we shouldn’t take this statement too seriously. Remember, the young forward performed in front of Real Madrid scouts at the Bernabeu when he was just 10, which is certainly impressive. But he is dedicated to Bayern Munich and understands the opportunity he has. He has been training vigorously with his own coach during the winter break in Germany. At 17 years old, while some fans may feel slighted, he has the right to express his feelings.”

Real Madrid Unlikely to Acquire Karl at This Time
Falk further confirmed that Karl has since apologized to Bayern’s senior management, indicating that a move to Real Madrid is not imminent.
“In the end, he apologized to the Bayern executives. There were discussions, and he now understands that it was unwise to make such statements. But this is part of the learning curve for a young player, and it’s all part of the process.
“He’s a professional member of Vincent Kompany’s squad, a real player like the others, not just a rising star. Don’t forget, he is set to receive a new contract as he turns 18 on February 22, extending automatically until 2029. There are also ongoing negotiations with his agent, Michael Ballack, for an extension to 2031, with a significant salary involved. Ultimately, he is feeling confident at Bayern Munich and is likely to extend his stay, though the precise details and salary remain to be seen. Bayern is counting on Karl for their future, and there are currently no plans for a transfer to Real Madrid or any other club.”
