Belgiums Onana ruled out…

The Belgium national team has announced that midfielder Amadou Onana will miss the remainder of the World Cup due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Onana suffered the injury during the first half of Belgium’s 4-1 victory over the United States in the round of 16 on Monday.

Team doctor Brahim Hacene stated, “Sadly, medical tests have confirmed that Amadou has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament. This news is devastating for him personally and for the entire team.”

“We have promptly consulted with both Amadou and Aston Villa to devise the best plan for his recovery.”

“In the coming days, we will work together to outline his treatment and rehabilitation plan. Throughout this journey, Amadou will have our unwavering support.”

Onana has made four World Cup appearances, including his second start against the U.S.
