Arsenal frequently plays pre-season matches against Boreham Wood, though these have mostly featured the club’s under-21 team in recent years.
However, due to the concurrent World Cup, it is unlikely that many senior players will be available for this match.

The World Cup commences on June 11th, concluding with the final on July 19th. As a result, any Arsenal players participating in the tournament are expected to still be abroad on the 17th.
Even those eliminated during the group stages would likely miss this match, given that the final group matches occur less than three weeks prior to July 17th. Players typically receive a minimum of three weeks off before resuming pre-season training, and they do not usually participate in matches on their first day back.

Therefore, it is almost certain that first-team players will not take to the pitch against Boreham Wood. Nonetheless, the match should provide an opportunity to see some of the rising stars from the club.

Arsenal has already confirmed a couple of pre-season matches, including a fixture against Real Betis in Dublin on August 5th, and another against Manchester City for the Community Shield on August 16th.
Although Arsenal did not win the Premier League or the FA Cup last season, their qualification for the Community Shield will come either as league champions or runners-up, due to City’s FA Cup victory.
Further matches are expected to be finalized in June, especially regarding whether Arsenal will participate in the UEFA Super Cup on August 12th (between the Champions League and Europa League winners).
