Middlesbrough has completed the signing of full-back Finley Munroe from Aston Villa for a fee of £300,000.
The 20-year-old has joined the Riverside Stadium on a four-and-a-half-year deal, with Aston Villa retaining a 30% sell-on clause.

Prior to this move, Munroe was on loan at Swindon Town for the season, where he made 27 appearances in League Two before being brought back by his parent club.
He moved to Villa from Chelsea in 2021 and made two appearances for Unai Emery’s team in 2024. Last season, he spent time on loan with Real Union in the Spanish third tier.
“The size of the club speaks for itself,” he stated in an interview with Boro’s website.
“It’s a massive club with ambitions of returning to the Premier League, which attracted me, along with the passionate fanbase and everything else about it.”
Munroe becomes Boro’s second signing this month, following the arrival of Leo Castledine from Chelsea, who made a notable impression during his loan spell at Huddersfield Town.
