Sky Germany, Sport Bild, and Kicker are reporting that Borussia Dortmund has reached an agreement for a complex loan arrangement to transfer Julien Duranville to FC Basel. All sources indicate that a distinctive deal has been established between BVB and the Swiss club. The 19-year-old will move to Switzerland on loan, but without a purchase option; however, Basel has secured a re-sale clause as part of the deal.
Patrick Berger notes that Basel initially wanted a purchase option for Duranville, but their request was turned down by the Bundesliga side. The inclusion of a re-sale clause represents a compromise. For Basel, acquiring Duranville on these terms appears to be a strategic move.
