Julian Ryerson continued his impressive performance by providing another assist in the UEFA Champions League, following his four assists against Mainz. His contributions helped Borussia Dortmund dominate Serie A’s Atalanta.
In addition to assisting for each of Dortmund’s four goals over the weekend, Ryerson set up two goals for Serhou Guirassy as well as scores from Maximilian Beier and Ramy Bensebaini. With this performance, the 28-year-old became just the fourth player since the start of detailed data collection in the 2004/05 season to record four assists in a single Bundesliga match, according to Opta.

By assisting Guirassy, who has been in formidable form with six goals in four matches, just three minutes into the game, Ryerson has now created nine goals in as many competitive outings in 2026—ranking second in Europe’s top five leagues, only behind Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise (10).
This impressive performance solidifies Ryerson’s status as an unsung hero for Dortmund. After the victory over Mainz, he remained humble, stating, “It’s not all that difficult. I just have to place the ball in the right spot. The others finish it off.”
