The Saints are currently sitting in 15th place in the table, having gained promotion last season, and they remain unbeaten in their last eight league matches.

“This is a significant appointment for the club. Andy possesses the experience and qualities needed to solidify our position in the National League and to drive the team forward,” stated chairman Matt Wise.

Former Coventry City and Brighton & Hove Albion player Whing led Solihull to the National League play-off final and the FA Trophy final in 2024, though they were runners-up in both events, losing to Bromley and Gateshead respectively.

He took over at Barrow in January 2025 but departed in December with the team positioned 18th in League Two after a six-match winless streak.

Whing’s debut match in charge of Brackley is set to take place at home against Southend United on Saturday.

“I’m thrilled to join this football club. I am passionate, ambitious, and eager to get started. I hope we can kick off with a victory on Saturday,” he commented.

The club has not disclosed the terms of Whing’s contract.
