Aidan Francis-Clarke’s two late goals propelled Braintree Town to a 3-2 victory against struggling Truro City in the National League.

Braintree’s John Akinde had nearly found the net earlier before scoring their first goal in the seventh minute with a powerful shot.

Truro equalized in stoppage time of the first half with Freddie Issaka, a Truro native, netting his inaugural goal since arriving on loan from Plymouth.

The home team briefly took the lead in the 66th minute when Ben Drake accidentally redirected Harry Charsley’s pass into his own net.

However, Drake later redeemed himself by providing an assist for Francis-Clarke, who equalized with a header ten minutes from the end.

In the fifth minute of added time, Francis-Clarke struck again with a header to secure the win for Braintree, lifting them closer to safety in the league standings.
