Charalampos Kostoulas’ stunning overhead kick in stoppage time earned Brighton & Hove Albion a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Bournemouth at the Amex Stadium on Monday night.

Despite a frustrating performance in front of goal, the Seagulls managed to secure a point as they appeared on the verge of suffering another home defeat, following Marcus Tavernier’s penalty that gave Bournemouth the lead in the first half.

However, the expensive Greek teenager Kostoulas came through in the first minute of additional time, executing a spectacular bicycle kick to redirect the ball past Djordje Petrovic and equalize.

This draw leaves Brighton in 12th place with a total of 30 points, three positions above Bournemouth, who remain perilously close beneath them.
