Manchester City exerted early pressure and came close in the opening minutes with Aoba Fujino whose shot from inside the box narrowly missed Chiamaka Nnadozie’s goal.

Kerolin struck first, scoring in the fifth minute with a right-footed shot that curled into the top left corner of the Brighton & Hove Albion net.

Khadija Shaw then hit the post as City sought to widen their lead, while Brighton & Hove Albion’s first attempt came from Fran Kirby, whose shot was saved by Ayaka Yamashita.

Just before halftime, Kerolin had another chance, firing from the center of the box, but Nnadozie made a crucial save.

Brighton & Hove Albion found the equalizer in added time when Haley scored with a right-footed effort from the center of the box, assisted by Kirby.

Shortly after the restart, Seike gave the hosts the lead with a well-placed shot from a tough angle that found the top corner.

At the opposite end, Nnadozie denied another attempt from Fujino, maintaining Brighton’s advantage.

Brighton then secured a third goal as Haley scored again, her close-range shot finding the net after her initial attempt was saved by Yamashita.

In the closing moments, Shaw managed to score for the visitors, placing a right-footed shot past Nnadozie, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome as Manchester City’s title bid faced a setback.

Brighton & Hove Albion will next face Manchester United next Saturday, while Manchester City will host Liverpool the following day.
