Bristol City manager Gerhard Struber lauded his team following their impressive 5-1 victory over Watford in the FA Cup’s third round.
The Robins ended Watford’s seven-match unbeaten run, with striker Emil Riis netting his first hat-trick for the club.
Struber expressed his excitement during an interview with BBC Radio Bristol, stating, “Performances like this elevate my expectations as well as the players’. Today, we showcased what we can truly deliver.”
Reflecting on the challenge of facing “a really big team” like Watford, Struber acknowledged the difficulty they pose with their impressive pace and dynamism, yet praised his team’s exceptional performance.
“Our play has been at a high standard over the past two weeks, and every player has truly pushed their limits,” he added.
He also mentioned the ambitions for the next round and the Championship, declaring, “Performances like today’s serve as a significant statement, not just for us but across the board.”
