According to a recent report by journalist Fraser Fletcher, Union Berlin’s defender Danilho Doekhi is eager to join Leeds United. The Whites are reportedly willing to wait for the German club to lower their asking price for the talented player.
Doekhi has been enjoying a standout season in the Bundesliga, delivering impressive performances as a key figure in the Union Berlin defense. He has featured in 18 matches this season, contributing six goals across various competitions.

The 27-year-old defender has proven to be a dependable presence at the back, recording 30 tackles, 18 blocks, 19 interceptions, and 84 clearances in the Bundesliga. His pass completion rate stands at 75.4%, showcasing his ability to distribute the ball effectively from his own half (stats via fbref.com).
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Leeds may secure him at a reduced price this month or potentially on a free transfer next summer.

Should Leeds United’s Daniel Farke Pursue Doekhi?
Doekhi is known for his excellent tackling ability and awareness in defending, often regaining possession for his team when necessary. Standing at 1.90m, he is well-equipped to win aerial duels and provide solid defensive coverage.

However, there are questions about whether the Dutch defender can adapt to the intensity of the Premier League if Leeds secures his services this winter or at the end of the season.
If signed, Doekhi could significantly enhance Daniel Farke’s defense, possessing the potential to earn regular first-team action at Elland Road.
At 27, he still has his prime years ahead, making him an appealing target for the Yorkshire club this winter or in the summer. However, Farke will need to give him time to adjust to life in England to fully realize Doekhi’s potential at Leeds.
