A recent report from SportBild (subscription required) has reported that Köln winger Said El Mala is keen on joining Chelsea this summer. It is reported that his representatives are actively pursuing a move to the West London club during the current transfer window.
El Mala’s Stellar Performance in the Bundesliga
The 19-year-old showcased his talent on the left side of Köln’s attack last season, delivering several standout performances in the Bundesliga. He netted 13 goals and provided five assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

El Mala is regarded as one of the most promising wingers in the Bundesliga, making him a valuable target for Chelsea this summer.
Holding a contract with Köln until 2030, negotiating a budget-friendly deal for El Mala may prove challenging for Chelsea this transfer window.

Could Xabi Alonso Benefit from Adding El Mala?
El Mala possesses the ability to make dynamic runs along the flanks, creating enticing opportunities for his teammates, as well as demonstrating powerful shooting capability from distance.

Last season, the German prodigy significantly enhanced his goal-scoring and assisting capabilities. While primarily a left-winger, he is also versatile enough to operate on the right side or even in a more central attacking position. However, it remains to be seen how well he would adapt to the physical demands and fast pace of the Premier League should Chelsea secure his signing.
Bringing El Mala to Chelsea would provide head coach Xabi Alonso with more options in the attacking department. He is already considered capable of competing for a regular starting position at Stamford Bridge next season.
At just 19 years old, El Mala’s future looks promising as long as he continues to develop. However, Alonso must allow him time to adjust to life in England to maximize his potential at the West London club.
