Mohamed Diomande is optimistic that a title push from Rangers will bolster his chances of securing a spot in the Ivory Coast national team for the World Cup finals.
The midfielder has made eight appearances for his country and last played for “Les Elephants” in June, where he scored the decisive penalty in a shoot-out victory against the hosts in the Canada Shield after coming off the bench.

However, Diomande has been excluded from the national squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations, which kicks off this weekend.
This means he will be available to contribute to Danny Rohl’s Rangers during the tournament in Morocco, which runs until mid-January.
“Of course, there’s some disappointment, but I’m pleased to be at one of the biggest clubs,” the 24-year-old stated.
“I’m focusing on my own growth and will support my national team. I hope they find success in the AFCON. I’m thankful that joining this club has helped me take the step toward becoming an international player.”

“I will concentrate on what I can do to improve. Perhaps this will alter their view of me in Ivory Coast, and they’ll notice different facets of my game, increasing my chances of making the squad.”
Nevertheless, Diomande emphasizes that his priority lies with Rangers, as they gear up for six matches over the next three weeks.
“My main focus is on Rangers, and I hope to win something,” he added.
“That’s been my goal since I arrived at Rangers. We’ve been on a strong run and positioned ourselves well for what’s ahead.”
