Tiémoué Bakayoko (31) appeared poised for a comeback in football after his contract with PAOK expired this summer, but he has yet to secure a new team. He was in negotiations to join Scottish club Celtic, but those discussions have now fallen through, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Since departing from AS Monaco, Bakayoko’s career has taken him to various clubs, including Chelsea, Napoli, AC Milan, FC Lorient, and PAOK. However, since his last contract ended, he has struggled to find a new opportunity.

The French midfielder was close to joining Celtic, who were ready to offer him an 18-month contract, as reported by L’Équipe. At the same time, the Scottish champions were pursuing other transfers, including one for former England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (32). Celtic have opted to prioritize the signing of the ex-Arsenal and Liverpool player, which has ultimately sidelined Bakayoko.
