Phil Parkinson expressed that it’s hard to feel frustrated with his players following Wrexham’s 2-2 draw against Bristol City.
The Red Dragons took the lead twice at Ashton Gate, first through Ollie Rathbone’s goal in the first half and later due to an own goal by Joe Williams in the 76th minute.
However, Bristol City responded with impressive goals from substitutes Sinclair Armstrong and Max Bird, resulting in a share of the spoils, as both teams missed the opportunity to secure a place in the Championship’s play-off zone.
“It’s quite challenging to be frustrated with how the lads performed tonight,” Parkinson remarked.
“I believe we can’t ask for much more from them this evening,” he added.
Rathbone notched his sixth goal of the season, impressively in just his 14th appearance across all competitions since mid-December.
Parkinson noted that the midfielder has returned to his best form, having been a consistent presence in the starting lineup over the past two months.
“He’s feeling fresh, has plenty of energy, and that was a fantastic goal,” the Wrexham manager stated.
