The leadership team at Chelsea, which includes the owners and a group of five sporting directors, has issued a statement in their matchday programme.

In the statement, they express that “the season has fallen short of the standards, expectations, and ambitions that embody Chelsea Football Club.”

Notable figures such as co-owners Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly, along with co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, voiced their commitment to achieving “sustainable success.”

They further commented, “No club desires to see changes in the head coach position.”

They emphasized, “Expectations at Chelsea always include competing at the top of the Premier League and securing a Champions League spot at this point in the season. This goal has not altered. Everyone at the club is dedicated to rectifying this next year.”

The statement also included positive remarks regarding new manager Xabi Alonso, acknowledged the academy’s fruitful season, and made notable references to the women’s team.
