Oldham showcased a formidable attacking display, with Drummond breaking the deadlock in the 22nd minute by connecting with a cross from Jack Stevens and sending a low shot past the keeper.

Fondop doubled the lead in the 31st minute, delicately chipping the ball over Zach Hemming after receiving a long pass from goalkeeper Mathew Hudson.

The visitors extended their advantage in the 74th minute due to poor defending. Oliver Hammond found himself in space on the right wing and squared the ball to Drummond, who simply tapped it in from close range.

Chesterfield struggled to create significant chances throughout the match, with Armando Dobra’s shot being saved and James Berry also managing a strike on target.

With this win, Oldham, who remain unbeaten in their last eight encounters, closed the gap to four points behind Chesterfield, holding two games in hand.
