Chiesa wows Liverpool…

Federico Chiesa was brought on as a substitute and made a crucial late block to help Liverpool secure a 1-1 draw against Sunderland at Anfield on Wednesday night, salvaging a frustrating point for the team.

The Italian winger replaced summer signing Alexander Isak in the 86th minute, as head coach Arne Slot gave little opportunity for Chiesa to leave his mark on the match.

However, in the 94th minute, Chiesa sprinted back during a counterattack that put Sunderland in a scoring position. After Alisson rushed out but was unable to handle the situation, the winger stepped in to prevent Sunderland from netting a late winner.

This is just a post to appreciate Federico Chiesa. He may not receive the recognition he deserves from Arne Slot, but he always makes a difference when he’s on the pitch, whether through goals, assists, or tonight’s heroic goal-line clearance. He deserves so much more playing time. pic.twitter.com/8V1b1Cv8nK — 𝑾𝒊𝒍𝒄𝒐🧣 (@WilcoFtbl) December 3, 2025
