Khaldoon Al-Mubarak, chairman of Manchester City, has expressed that he has a lot he wishes to say regarding the club’s ongoing legal battle with the Premier League, but stresses that any comments must be postponed until a decision is reached.
In February 2023, the Premier League unveiled 115 charges against City regarding alleged violations of financial regulations.
An independent hearing wrapped up in December 2024, yet after more than 18 months, no conclusion has been reached.
“I have to remain consistent—until we have a ruling, I can’t say much,” Khaldoon remarked during his end-of-season interview.
“But once we get a ruling, I promise I’ll share everything I’ve been holding back for the past three years.”
Manchester City has consistently asserted its innocence; however, if found guilty, the club could face severe penalties, including possible expulsion from the Premier League.

Despite the charges, Khaldoon affirms that owner Sheikh Mansour remains dedicated to the club and has “no intention” of selling.
“There’s no intention to sell,” he stated emphatically.
“The focus is solely on continuing to grow because we believe this venture will only thrive further. This is an exceptional business to own.
“Sports, and particularly football, endure while other interests may shift over time. Football is the pinnacle of sports.
“Manchester City and this group within the football landscape represent that pinnacle. Such treasures are not things you sell.”
