Leicester City goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk has stated that the team will approach each match as if it were a final until their safety in the Championship is secured.
On Tuesday, the Foxes defeated Bristol City 2-0, breaking a 10-match winless streak and climbing out of the relegation zone.
Goals in the first half from Ben Nelson and Abdul Fatawu put the Foxes on course for their first win under manager Gary Rowett. Stolarczyk also made a crucial penalty save in the second half, helping Leicester achieve their first league clean sheet in 31 games and end a four-match home losing streak.
“The entire team put in a tremendous effort to secure the clean sheet, and we fully deserved it,” Stolarczyk shared with BBC Radio Leicester.
“Of course, we had the penalty moment, and I was lucky to save it. Other than that, I didn’t have to make many saves, and you could really see the determination of the whole back four to defend well.”
“This victory will boost our confidence – for the back four, for me, and the entire team – as we head into the next crucial matches.”
“Saturday will be another final for us, and we need to maintain this mindset until our safety is assured.”
Leicester will play at home again this Saturday against Queens Park Rangers.
