Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer (23) is expected to remain sidelined until November as he continues to recover from a lingering groin injury, according to a report from Sky Sports.
Palmer has been absent from Chelsea’s last three matches against Brighton, Benfica, and Liverpool after sustaining the injury just 21 minutes into the 2-1 defeat against Manchester United on September 20. This issue first arose during the club’s shortened pre-season following their Club World Cup campaign, contributing to him making only four appearances so far this season.
He was not included in the England squad for the international break, and head coach Thomas Tuchel has expressed concern regarding the injury, labeling it as “a very dangerous one to become chronic.” Tuchel is committed to managing Palmer’s recovery with caution.
Palmer is anticipated to miss significant matches against Nottingham Forest, Ajax, Wolves, and Sunderland, with Chelsea hoping to have him back in time for their Premier League clash against Tottenham on November 1.
