Crystal Palace has secured the loan signing of forward Evann Guessand from Aston Villa, with an option to make the deal permanent.
The Ivorian becomes Palace’s second acquisition of the winter transfer window, following the signing of Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24-year-old joined Villa last summer after an impressive season with Nice, where he was named the club’s player of the season.
However, he played in a backup role to Ollie Watkins at Villa, netting twice in 21 appearances across all competitions.
Guessand will now aim to earn more playing time with Palace.
In other news, uncertainty surrounds Jean-Philippe Mateta’s future, as he has expressed his wish to depart this month.
Manager Oliver Glasner stated that Mateta will not participate in their Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, although this decision is unrelated to the transfer situation.
The French striker has also agreed personal terms with AC Milan, but the two clubs have yet to finalize a transfer fee.
