Luis Díaz is confident that moving to Bayern Munich from Liverpool last summer was the right choice.
The Colombian striker has excelled at the Bundesliga champions, netting 23 goals and providing 18 assists in 40 appearances since his €75 million ($87m) transfer to the Allianz Arena in July.
Díaz, who netted the opening goal in Bayern’s 2-1 victory over Real Madrid during the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, shared with ESPN: “Choosing to join Bayern was the correct decision. I’m very happy, and I cherish every match.”
“I’m feeling great and in good condition, which means I can contribute to the team.”
Díaz, who is anticipated to start for Colombia in this summer’s World Cup, attributes Bayern’s strong season to the team’s excellent chemistry.
“We have a clear strategy, and we’re a very tight-knit group, which is evident on the field,” said Díaz.
Bayern leads the Bundesliga by nine points, ahead of Borussia Dortmund, with just six matches left in the season.
The club is also actively competing in the German Cup, gearing up for a semifinal clash against Bayer Leverkusen on April 22.
Before this, Bayern will face Real Madrid in a highly anticipated Champions League matchup.
Díaz expressed that he believed Bayern deserved a larger lead going into the second leg next week.
The team recorded nine shots on target at the Bernabéu while adhering to their strategic approach.

“We had analyzed Real Madrid well, and the play leading to the opening goal unfolded precisely as we had envisioned,” Díaz commented. “As the match progressed, we felt increasingly at ease, reclaimed the ball more frequently, and executed our game strategy more effectively. That’s our preferred style of play.”
“We’re very pleased, although there’s a tinge of disappointment that we could have found the net one or two more times. It was a remarkable performance against a formidable opponent.”
