Luis Díaz: I Made the…

Luis Díaz expressed that moving to Bayern Munich from Liverpool last summer was a pivotal choice for him.

The Colombian forward has been in impressive form, netting 23 goals and providing 18 assists in 40 matches since joining the Allianz Arena for €75 million ($87 million) in July.

Díaz played a crucial role in Bayern’s 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, stating to ESPN: “Joining Bayern was the right decision. I am very happy and relish every match.”

“I feel fantastic, I’m in great shape, and I’m ready to contribute to the team,” he added.

As he prepares to represent Colombia at the upcoming World Cup, Díaz attributes Bayern’s strong performance this season to excellent team chemistry.

“Our plan is clear, we’re a very unified squad, and that reflects on the field,” he remarked.

Bayern currently holds a nine-point lead over Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga, with six games left to play.

They remain contenders in the German Cup and will face Bayer Leverkusen in the semifinal on April 22.

Before that, Bayern has an exciting rematch against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Díaz believes his team should have had a larger advantage heading into the second leg next week.

With nine shots on target at the Bernabéu, Bayern adhered closely to their game strategy.

“We had thoroughly analyzed Real Madrid, and the play that led to the opening goal unfolded precisely as we had envisioned,” Díaz said. “As the match progressed, we felt more at ease, regained possession more frequently, and took better control of the game. That is our objective.”

“We are very satisfied, yet we can’t shake the feeling that we could have netted one or two additional goals. We delivered an excellent performance against a formidable opponent.”
