Gustavo Hamer expressed his eagerness to give back to Coventry City supporters upon his return to the club with a long-term contract.
The Sky Blues have acquired the 29-year-old midfielder from Sheffield United, where he had previously transferred in 2023.

“I’m thrilled—this is the move I aimed for,” Hamer shared, having netted 19 goals in 132 appearances during his earlier time with Coventry. “Joining Coventry in the Premier League was a dream I always held. When the club showed interest in me again, it felt truly special, and I’m overjoyed to be back.”
“The support from the fans was incredible, and the best way I can repay them is through goals, assists, and strong performances. While I may not score or provide assists in every match, I promise to give 100% for the badge, the Club, and the supporters.”
Before his time in England, Hamer, a former Netherlands youth international, played for Feyenoord and PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie.
