Newcastle United secured a 2-1 victory over Fulham on Wednesday night, advancing to the semi-finals of the League Cup.
The match at St James’ Park appeared to be heading to penalties after Sasa Lukic equalized following Yoane Wissa’s opening goal.

Yet, Lewis Miley emerged as the hero by scoring a stoppage-time winner, ensuring Newcastle’s spot in the last four.
However, the win was overshadowed by an injury to Tino Livramento, who was forced to exit the game late on.
It appeared to be yet another knee issue, prompting manager Eddie Howe to substitute him with Alex Murphy in the 76th minute.
Howe remarked, “It doesn’t look good. The fact that he had to come off is concerning. We’re already facing challenges in that department, and losing him would be a significant setback.”
Livramento has already been sidelined for eight weeks this season due to a knee ligament injury. He had just returned to the team at the start of November and had started the last eight matches across all competitions, but now faces the prospect of another lengthy recovery.

Newcastle is grappling with several injury issues, with Dan Burn, Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, and William Osula all currently unavailable.
With Livramento’s injury, Howe will be forced to deploy Murphy at left-back, while Miley will take on the right-back position.
Newcastle will host Chelsea at St James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
