Eddie Nketiah to Miss…

Eddie Nketiah will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to another hamstring injury, as confirmed by Oliver Glasner.

The striker has had a challenging season with Crystal Palace, struggling with recurring fitness issues that have limited his game time.

In a recent statement, Glasner confirmed that Nketiah’s latest injury means he will not take the field again this season.

The diagnosis was communicated to the manager just before the club’s recent European match.

Glasner explained that the medical team reported the injury to him late in the evening after conducting assessments.

Nketiah had been expected to return to action in April but unfortunately picked up another hamstring issue during a recent training session.

This marks the fourth hamstring injury he has encountered this season.

The 26-year-old has been absent from Palace’s lineup since their 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on December 28, missing 30 matches throughout the term.

Despite these setbacks, he has still managed to make 19 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

Nketiah joined Crystal Palace from Arsenal in 2024, signing a five-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2029.

Glasner stressed that the top priority is to ensure Nketiah is fully fit for the next season.

The manager indicated that the focus will be on stabilizing the injury and preparing the player for pre-season.

Palace intends to prioritize rehabilitation rather than hastily bringing the striker back into the squad.

This strategy aims to help Nketiah regain the rhythm that has been consistently disrupted by injuries.

Thus, Crystal Palace will continue the remainder of the season without their striker as they navigate both domestic competitions and their ongoing European campaign.
