Enzo Fernandez has suggested that he may consider leaving Chelsea this summer.

Following Chelsea’s disappointing 3-0 loss to PSG at Stamford Bridge, which marked an 8-2 aggregate defeat against the European champions, the vice-captain expressed uncertainty about his future. Early goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bradley Barcola dashed any hopes of a comeback, with substitute Senny Mayulu netting a third in the second half.

Having joined Chelsea for £107 million as one of BlueCo’s first significant signings, Fernandez has been a standout player in what has been a lackluster season, tallying 12 goals and 6 assists in 45 appearances. However, he remained non-committal about his future with the club.

When asked about next season, Fernandez told ESPN Argentina, “I don’t know. We have eight games left in the Premier League and the FA Cup to play, and then there’s the World Cup. We’ll see what happens next.”

If Fernandez were to leave, it would pose a significant challenge for manager Liam Rosenior, as the midfielder has consistently contributed critical goals and brings valuable experience as a World Cup winner to one of the youngest squads in the Premier League.

Rosenior, caught off guard by Fernandez’s comments during his post-match press conference, stated, “I didn’t see that. It’s difficult for me to comment on speculation after a match. Right now, I need to focus on securing a positive outcome against Everton this weekend.”
