Fermin Lopez made a highly anticipated return to the field during the match against Girona, stepping in for Toni Fernandez at half-time.
The young Spaniard quickly brought energy and directness to Barcelona’s offensive play, making every effort to break through a resilient Girona defense.
While Fermin couldn’t find the net himself, Barcelona clinched all three points with a late goal from Ronald Araujo.
After the match, Fermin shared his thoughts with the media regarding the team’s hard-fought victory.
Fermin’s Comments Following Barcelona’s Victory Over Girona
The Spaniard acknowledged the significance of winning matches in such tight circumstances and admitted he wasn’t at his best when it came to finishing chances.
“I believe that sometimes wins come in this manner,” he stated (via FCB World). “It was a very challenging game, and we missed several opportunities, myself included. We played well, fought hard until the end, and ultimately scored the decisive goal.”

While Fermin showed some signs of inconsistency in the final third, his performance was encouraging looking ahead to next weekend’s showdown with Real Madrid.
Fermin also addressed the club’s ongoing injury woes, which have significantly impacted the team’s lineup.
“We fought until the end. It’s true that we’re facing a lot of injuries, with key players recently returning while others remain sidelined,” he explained.
“There were moments of disarray in the second half, but I believe we deserved the win, and we achieved it in the end,” he added.
Lastly, Fermin provided an update on his own fitness, having recently come back from a short injury layoff.
“I feel a bit fatigued, but overall I’m okay. The sensation is positive, and I just need to keep working on regaining my rhythm gradually,” he concluded.
