FA mandates minimum 10

  • Under tougher Football Association rules taking effect this season, players found guilty of discrimination will receive a minimum 10-match ban.
  • Previously, “aggravated breaches” of FA Rule E3.2—covering misconduct related to ethnic origin, colour, race, nationality, religion, sex, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, or disability—carried suspensions of six to 12 matches.
  • The increased penalties also apply to managers and others in the technical area, reflecting the FA’s commitment to “delivering a game free from discrimination.”
