Marcus Rashford has announced his farewell to Barcelona in an Instagram post, featuring a photo of the back of his number 14 jersey from last season.
During his loan spell from Manchester United, Rashford netted 14 goals and provided 14 assists across all competitions, contributing to Barcelona’s La Liga triumph.
Despite a June deadline passing for Barcelona to make Rashford’s £26 million loan permanent, the clause was not activated.
He participated in six out of eight matches as England achieved their best World Cup result since 1966 under Thomas Tuchel.
The future of the 28-year-old remains unclear, although he is under contract with Manchester United until 2028. His prospects continue to be uncertain.
In his Instagram message, he expressed: “I am extremely thankful to everyone at the club for making my tenure such a rewarding and memorable journey.
“I’ve cherished every moment and will carry many wonderful memories with me.
“I wish the club and all its fans the best of luck and great success for the upcoming season. Visca el Barca.”
