Reports indicate that Cesc Fabregas chose to leave Como player Nico Paz on the bench for today’s match against Lecce due to disciplinary actions, following the young Real Madrid product arriving late for a team meal.
It was quite unexpected to see the Argentine talent not included in the starting line-up, especially since he had been suspended during last week’s 2-0 win at Juventus.

Fabregas was questioned regarding this decision prior to kickoff, being asked if Paz was being rested in anticipation of Tuesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final against Inter.
He clarified, however, that it was “not for that reason, but simply a choice I made.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, the underlying reason for Paz’s absence from the starting lineup is indeed disciplinary, intended to convey a message to the team.
Nico Paz reportedly upset the Como coach by arriving late to a team dinner ahead of the match.
He did ultimately make an appearance as a substitute in the 3-1 comeback win, suggesting he has been forgiven after this warning.
