Fenerbahce have completed the signing of Netherlands defender Nathan Ake from Manchester City in a deal that could reach £8.5m. The Turkish side are paying about £7m up front, with the remainder tied to add-ons.
Ake, 31, played three times for the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup, where they were knocked out by Morocco in the last 32.
Across six seasons at the Etihad, he won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, two League Cups and the Champions League. Reflecting on his time at City, Ake said it had been a privilege to represent the club, that he had developed both on and off the pitch, and that he would treasure memories such as the Treble, contributing to all four league title wins, and lifting the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in his final season. He added that City will always hold a special place for him.
Signed from Bournemouth for £40m in 2020, Ake made 177 appearances for City. His departure this summer was not a major surprise given he had a year left on his contract and featured less frequently in Pep Guardiola’s final campaign, making 17 starts in all competitions, six of them in the Premier League.
