Fernandezs Real…

Real Madrid has publicly stated that they are not pursuing Enzo Fernandez, which poses a significant setback for the midfielder and his agents.

Those familiar with remarks from his camp or the Argentine international himself know he has expressed a willingness to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with a move to the Spanish capital being his top preference.

Following Real Madrid’s announcement, similar sentiments have been echoed by unnamed sources within Paris St-Germain and Manchester City, both of which have previously shown interest in the player.

Since March, Fernandez has made several statements in Spanish-language interviews reflecting on Chelsea’s struggles, including their exit from the Champions League against PSG.

Later that month, while on international duty, he made comments regarding a potential transfer to Spain, leading to an internal suspension of two matches.

His agent, Javier Pastore, has also expressed that Fernandez is undercompensated at Chelsea, indicating that not qualifying for the Champions League could complicate matters.

These remarks have put Chelsea in a delicate situation considering Fernandez’s crucial role in the team. Last season, he made a significant impact with 15 goals and seven assists, also serving as vice-captain.

Nonetheless, Chelsea has maintained a clear stance, willing to entertain offers if their £120m asking price is met, but they are not actively looking to sell the player. They are open to having Fernandez remain a vital part of Xabi Alonso’s strategy.

Although the circumstances have been difficult, Chelsea believes the situation is not beyond redemption.

There is confidence at Stamford Bridge that Alonso can effectively reintegrate Fernandez into the squad, fostering a renewed relationship with fans through impressive performances on the pitch.
