Flick Updates Three La…

The season has concluded for Barcelona, marking the moment for evaluations and forward planning.

Hansi Flick, recognized for his systematic methodology, emphasizes the significance of timing and process in his decision-making as he prepares for the upcoming campaign.

The German coach typically refrains from holding meetings or discussing future plans with players until the last official match of the season has been played.

Cortes, Tommy, and Espart Set for First-Team Pre-Season

According to SPORT, Flick has informed three promising La Masia talents—Tommy Marques, Xavi Espart, and Alvaro Cortes—that they will join the Barcelona first team for pre-season training.

Simiilarly to last season, Flick waited until all official matches concluded before engaging in brief, personal discussions with every squad member.

These conversations, which took place immediately after the final game, were informal rather than lengthy official meetings.

The aim was to reflect on the past season and set the stage for the next, while detailing each player’s expected role.

Among those he met with were three academy prospects who spent significant time in the first-team setup: Tommy, Espart, and Cortes.

Flick’s Message

Flick’s message to the three players was reportedly clear: “I want you fully prepared for pre-season; I am counting on you.”

The Barcelona manager is very pleased with their performances and contributions this season.

Regular training with the first team has allowed these young players to develop and adapt to the pace and intensity required in elite football. Flick is eager to continue monitoring their progress over the summer.

However, this does not guarantee immediate registration in the first-team squad.

It is still too early to make that determination, especially with several expected changes across the squad during the transfer window, which will ultimately affect squad composition.

For now, the trio will commence pre-season with the senior squad, after which their development and performances will help shape the decisions made behind the scenes.
