Portuguese midfielder Florentino Luis has completed a permanent transfer to Burnley from Benfica for an undisclosed fee.
When he initially joined Burnley on loan during last summer’s transfer deadline, there was an obligation to make the move permanent for a reported £20.8 million, which was activated following the last season.

The 26-year-old made his debut for the Clarets against Liverpool in September and recorded his first assist during the 2-0 victory over Leeds United in October.
Florentino quickly became an essential part of former manager Scott Parker’s squad in their battle against relegation, making a total of 33 appearances.
As the Clarets prepare for next season in the Championship, they will rely on Florentino’s experience. He has also had loan spells at Monaco in Ligue 1 and Getafe in La Liga.
During his time with Benfica, he contributed to their Primeira Liga titles in 2019 and 2023, playing alongside Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez, and also helped secure the Taca da Liga in 2025.

Florentino has also played in the Champions League and represented Portugal at every level from Under-15 to Under-21.
