Phil Foden has reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester City to extend his contract, ensuring he remains at the Etihad Stadium. According to sources at ESPN, the deal is set to keep the 25-year-old with the club until 2030, with an option to extend for an additional year. His current contract was set to expire in 2027.
While there are still details to finalize, insiders suggest that the agreement is essentially a formality.
Foden has been with City since he was four years old and has already made over 350 appearances for the first team. This new contract will extend his stay at the club beyond his 30th birthday.
Despite facing challenges this season and losing his spot in Pep Guardiola’s lineup, sources close to Foden affirm that he has never considered leaving the club.
Foden has not started a Premier League match since March and could be at risk of missing out on a spot in England‘s World Cup squad.
