Nico Paz departed from Real Madrid to join Como several years ago, feeling that he would not get enough playing time at the club.
His time in Serie A allowed him to grow significantly, emerging as a standout player for Cesc Fabregas

Just a week ago, it looked like his return to Real Madrid was imminent, but all he sought was the promise of regular playing time. However, the situation has evolved, impacting the future of the Argentine talent.
Paz’s Change of Heart
According to an update from Alberto Pereira (h/t The Madrid Zone), Paz is now not expected to make a return to his childhood team. In truth, the report indicates that he will likely not be a Real Madrid player next season.

The reasons behind his change of plans are unclear, although it is likely influenced by Real Madrid’s recent acquisition of Bernardo Silva and the pressing need to bolster the midfield.

Paz was poised to compete for a starting role alongside Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler, and with Silva’s addition, his chances for significant playing time are once again uncertain.
Thus, returning to Madrid now would contradict the very reason he sought to come back, placing him in the same precarious position he wished to escape.
What Lies Ahead for Paz?
The talented Argentine has made significant progress with Fabregas in recent years, and as the option of returning home diminishes, he will likely stay with Como for the next season.

From Real Madrid’s standpoint, allowing the midfielder to refine his talents for another year seems logical, particularly as Jose Mourinho navigates challenges within the squad.
After a year, they will maintain a buy-back option and can consider bringing him back if deemed appropriate. Rushing his return, however, could hinder his development.
During his last season in Serie A, Paz netted 12 goals and provided six assists in 35 appearances, creating 13 significant chances and averaging 1.5 key passes per match.
