Freya Godfrey pens three

England forward Freya Godfrey has committed to London City Lionesses on a new three-year deal.

The 21-year-old was a standout in the club’s inaugural Women’s Super League season, earning multiple England senior call-ups in 2025-26.

Godfrey initially arrived on loan from Arsenal in January 2025 and made the move permanent last summer.

She was voted Players’ Player of the Season after recording six goals and four assists, helping London City finish sixth in their first WSL campaign.

A season earlier, she played a pivotal role as London City won the WSL 2 title and clinched their first-ever promotion to the top flight.

Godfrey said she is delighted to extend her stay, praising the world-class experience within the squad—featuring World Cup and Champions League winners—and noting that regular game time has accelerated her growth on and off the pitch.
