Matías Galarza is set to join Inter Miami CF from River Plate in Argentina, according to a source from ESPN.
The Paraguayan midfielder officially signed with Inter Miami on Wednesday night, completing his transfer to South Florida just as the MLS transfer window was closing.
Galarza, who has experience in MLS, previously spent a season on loan with Atlanta United FC, where he made 13 appearances across all competitions, contributing one assist.
In addition, Galarza played a key role in his national team’s campaign during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring once against Türkiye in the group stage and providing an assist in an upset victory over Germany in the round of 32.
Galarza is the second player to be signed by Inter Miami on deadline day, following Brazilian winger Riquelme Fillipi, whose transfer was confirmed earlier on Wednesday.
These new signings come as the club prepares for the arrival of new head coach Cristian Gonzalez, taking over from interim manager Guillermo Hoyos.
During this transfer window, Inter Miami has also seen some roster movements. Defender Noah Allen is reported to be on the verge of joining Chicago Fire FC, with negotiations in advanced stages and a deal expected to close soon.
The secondary transfer window for MLS is set to close at midnight on Wednesday.
Allen was not present for Inter Miami’s training session on Wednesday morning.
Additionally, Inter Miami has loaned midfielder David Ruiz to the New York Red Bulls, earning $75,000 in general allocation money for 2027 from the deal, which includes an option for the Red Bulls to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
Currently, Inter Miami holds second place in the Eastern Conference standings with 42 points after 22 matches.
