England midfielder Georgia Stanway has officially signed with Arsenal on a permanent transfer, as confirmed by the Women’s Super League club.
The 27-year-old midfielder moves to north London following her departure from Bayern Munich at the end of the previous season, having spent four years with the Bundesliga club.

During her tenure in Germany, Stanway secured eight trophies and made a total of 128 appearances. She began her professional career at Blackburn before joining Manchester City in 2015, where she made 186 appearances and scored 67 goals, winning one WSL title, three FA Cups, and three League Cups during her seven years at the club.
On the international front, Stanway has been capped 93 times by England and played a significant role in both of the Lionesses’ European Championship victories in 2022 and 2025.
Reflecting on her transfer, Stanway expressed, “Joining Arsenal is an unbelievable feeling and I couldn’t be prouder. This is a massive club that is elevating women’s football to new heights, and I am eager to contribute. My goal is to win trophies and develop as a player, and I believe this is the right environment to achieve that, backed by an extraordinary fanbase.”

Last season, Arsenal finished second in the WSL, just four points behind champions Manchester City, and reached the semi-finals of the Women’s Champions League before being eliminated by Lyon. Remarkably, the Gunners had previously defeated Lyon en route to winning the Champions League for the first time in their history.
