Austria had the first shot on target, as Romario Cunha saved a close-range effort from Hasan Deshishku.
At the other end, Portugal faced off against a strong defense, with Daniel Posch denying Rafael Quintas from converting an opportunity to score.
The breakthrough came when Cabral, Portugal’s top scorer, found the net with a close-range finish for his seventh goal of the tournament.
This goal allowed the Selecao to maintain possession, while Austria’s only chance before halftime came from Luca Weinhandl’s attempt from outside the area.

In the second half, Austria came out more aggressively, prompting Cunha to make two crucial saves early on.
Mateus Mide missed a significant opportunity to extend Portugal’s lead, failing to convert at the far post after a cross from Anisio.
Austrian player Ifeanyi Ndukwe nearly equalized, but Cunha delivered a remarkable save to thwart his shot.
Austria’s hopes were further dashed when Daniel Frauscher’s attempt hit the woodwork.
Earlier in the day, Italy overcame four-time champions Brazil with a 4-2 victory in the third-place match.
