Watford’s manager Javi Gracia addressed BBC Three Counties Radio after the team’s 1-1 draw against Portsmouth.

“I am extremely upset and disappointed, not just with the draw but also with our level of competition following two poor results in the FA Cup and our last home match against Millwall,” he expressed.

“I expected a different kind of reaction and attitude from the team. I didn’t recognize my squad out there.”

“All the supporters saw that we were confined to our own half, rarely looking to attack or advance the play. That goes against the goals we aim for in our work.”

“We are up against teams with more experience that are well-organized. While we were defensively solid in the first half, attempting to apply pressure from goal kicks and disrupt their midfield play, our offensive performance was disastrous. That’s not the style of play we strive for.”
