Haaland Claims Premier…

Erling Haaland has secured the Premier League Golden Boot for the third time in his career.

The striker from Manchester City wrapped up the season with 27 goals, five ahead of Brentford’s Igor Thiago, who finished second.

Haaland also led the league in scoring during the 2022-23 season with 36 goals, as well as in 2023-24 with 27 goals.

Teammate Antoine Semenyo tallied 17 goals after transferring from Bournemouth during the January transfer window.

Ollie Watkins scored two goals on the final matchday in Aston Villa’s 2-1 win against City, finishing as the top English scorer with 16 goals.

João Pedro from Chelsea and Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest each scored 15 goals, while Arsenal’s Viktor Gyökeres and Leeds United‘s Dominic Calvert-Lewin found the back of the net 14 times each.

Only Thierry Henry and Mo Salah, who each have four Golden Boots, have achieved this honor more times than Haaland’s three. With Salah’s departure from Liverpool, Haaland may equal their record next season.

Haaland is now tied with Alan Shearer and Harry Kane for the number of Golden Boot wins, all three with three awards each.

The Norwegian forward has netted 112 goals in 132 Premier League matches, becoming the fastest player to reach 100 goals in the league, achieving this milestone in just 111 appearances—13 matches sooner than the previous record held by Shearer.
