Barcelona strengthened their position at the top of La Liga on Saturday by defeating Villarreal 4-1 at Spotify Camp Nou, with Lamine Yamal scoring three goals and Robert Lewandowski adding another. The Catalan side is now four points ahead of Real Madrid, who will play on Monday evening against Getafe.

According to Marca, head coach Hansi Flick shared his thoughts on the match and was pleased with the team’s performance. However, he emphasized the need for an even better display on Tuesday when Barcelona hosts Atlético Madrid in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals.

“Of course, there’s room for improvement, but I really liked what I saw today. We played exceptionally well. Tuesday will be a different challenge, but we must maintain this level of play. Our pressing was quick and effective, and we won our battles. I was very impressed with our performance,” Flick stated.

Flick also praised Lamine Yamal, who achieved his first career hat-trick in just 73 minutes on the field.

“We aimed to protect Lamine, but the entire team performed admirably. Our pressing against Villarreal was effective, and winning those critical duels was key to today’s match. It was a fantastic performance,” he added.

Flick Looks Forward to Atlético Showdown

Now, Barcelona is focused on their upcoming match against Atlético Madrid, where they aim to overcome a four-goal deficit from the first leg at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. Flick urged the home fans at Spotify Camp Nou to provide their full support from the start.

“We want everyone in the stadium so we can fight together and try to make a comeback against Atletico Madrid. We’ll battle for 90 minutes or longer. We’ll give everything and see what happens,” Flick declared.
