The presidential elections for Barcelona are now underway, with candidates sharing their campaign strategies and promises. However, it seems that many of these grand pledges are unlikely to be realistic.
Victor Font is still clinging to the dream of Lionel Messi’s return, while others are making extravagant claims about securing big-name signings that seem highly improbable given the club’s current financial challenges.
One notable candidate, Xavi Vilajoana, has stated his intention to sign Harry Kane if he is elected.
“Yes, we have started contacts. I personally have not, but those involved in my project have begun discussions,” he said regarding the possibility of signing Kane earlier this week.
Kane Responds to the Rumors
In an interview with Sky Sport Germany via Mundo Deportivo after Bayern Munich’s victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, Kane was asked about Vilajoana’s comments and the rumors surrounding a transfer to Barcelona.
However, Kane dismissed any knowledge of the situation, clarifying that his family manages all transfer-related matters and communications with other clubs.
“I haven’t heard anything about it. My father and brother handle everything, but they haven’t mentioned anything to me.”

He also mentioned that he is satisfied with his situation at Bayern Munich and that moving to Barcelona has not crossed his mind.
“As I have already stated, I’m very happy here at Bayern. My focus is on this season and my career at Bayern,” Kane asserted.
“I take it as a compliment,” he concluded regarding the rumors surrounding Barcelona.
For Kane to publicly refute the claims made by Vilajoana is undoubtedly a significant setback for the candidate’s campaign. Nevertheless, despite the promises being made, it has been clear from the beginning that securing Kane will be a tough challenge for the Catalans, given his satisfaction at Bayern Munich and the commitment of the German club to their project.
