RC Lens goalkeeper Hervé Koffi (29) is reportedly on the verge of joining Union Saint-Gilloise, as reported by La DH. The transition will likely occur on loan, with an option for a permanent deal.
Having spent last season on loan with SCO Angers, Koffi had an impressive run and emerged as one of the top goalkeepers in Ligue 1. However, upon returning to Lens this summer, he is anticipated to leave quickly due to stiff competition from Robin Risser (21).
In Belgium, Koffi is heading back to a familiar league, having previously played for Royal Excel Mouscron in the 2020-21 season and then for Royal Charleroi SC from 2021 to 2024. At Union Saint-Gilloise, the 29-year-old goalkeeper will also have the chance to participate in the Champions League, taking over from Kjell Scherpen (26), who recently transferred to Ipswich Town, newly promoted to the Premier League.
